In an attempt to assist our students and their families in college options and careers in the arts, we are including the link to "The Art Career Project." This website does a great job in breaking down the various careers in the arts; top schools by career interest and scholarship opportunities.
Please feel free to contact any of us here in the OPRF Visual Arts department to help assist you and your student in this journey.
In this post we present two articles and a video which discuss the power the arts have on learning and achievement. Elliot Eisner was a professor of Art and Education at the Stanford Graduate School of Education. He was a leader in educational research found that the arts are an integral component on developing broad and creative thinking. We've included a synopsis of his argument for art eduction and an interview where he discusses this in greater detail.
The final article is from Critical Evidence, a publication funded by the Department of Education and National Endowment for the Arts. This article asks and answers the question about the arts influence on learning and achievement.
